Another one via Club Metro. I'll reboot the blog with some original content after we thrash Stoke five nil. Sorry, busy playing Football Manager 2015 where Lamela and Soldado have both scored +20 goals and I'm about to qualify for the Champions League.

Fantasy > Reality.

Another day, another Spurs win, another miserable post-match musing. I'm reflecting the vibe I'm getting from the vast majority of supporters thanks to a low key, lucky, lacklustre away victory at Asteras Tripolis. Proving that you can be disjointed and average and still come away with all the points whilst dishing out a first home defeat to the Greek hosts in the competition.

It wasn't pretty. Asteras had plenty of opportunities to punish us. They didn't. We did, thanks to our academy produced kids - Andros Townsend and Harry 'Goal Machine' Kane, once more bringing a storm to Pochettinio' selection think-tank.Will he start a league match or continue to notch 'em in against weak European opposition?

Perhaps there isn't enough of a reason to be that down hearted by this performance that this majority seem to think is damning evidence of further stagnation. It was just another unglamorous Europa League mid-week game played out between a side that saw this game as a big occasion and Spurs, a team that continues to look disinterested with competing with serious intent. Then again, why should we when we can plod our way out of the group with minimum fuss? Although playing fringe players seems to do very little in maximising effort in the games that follow. Games where headaches are prominently on show.

Kane now has eight goals in eight games. Momentum, confidence, eye of the tiger. On account of him scoring that warrants an inclusion on the first team, as a reward for his persistence form and also because Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor continue to fail where it matters most.

Kane is the only positive from the game (aside from the three points). Stoke on Sunday is the perfect opportunity for him to play. It's also the perfect opportunity for Pochettino and his players to prove there is no weakness in mentality by giving us something to applaud and appreciate at White Hart Lane. Good solid attacking football, urgency and guile - the best way to avoid that potential migraine.

I've been waiting for Spurs to show some bravery all season long. Not just pockets of it but sustained application, a genuine willingness to take the game by the scruff of the neck. We'll wont see that in European competition until we get out of the group games. Poch left players behind for the 2-1 win. Others played a small part with Stoke in mind. It always feels like we're in this perpetual state of planning and working towards the next game when what we need is the to seize the present and finally make this long awaited statement that there is life in us after all.

I probably exaggerated, it isn't really a majority that were disappointed in the fact we won but I'm sure most felt less than entertained by the manner in which we achieved it.

Start Kane, give him a chance. Maybe as part of a two-tier attacking spearhead. What have we got to lose? Well, apart from yet another home match.
