Three down
Solid start. The fixture list is made even more dramatic by today's FA Cup third round draw. Away to the pestilence from Plumstead. Could not have asked for a better game. The history. The hatred. The nine thousand man army invasion. The tie takes place days after we visit Old Trafford in early January. Still got a quarter-final to look forward to this month.
Add into the mix the madness of the January transfer window and it's fairly obvious nothing is about to let up. Player form, selections and tactical reshuffles are constantly under the microscope. Every game seems to carry a caveat. Must win. Do or die.
The next two will either push us further away from the melty reactionary angst we experienced post-City thrashing or they will drag us (and our coach) back to the brink. Not that I choose to see it play out like a pantomime. I prefer musicals.
Hark now hear...
