Real Madrid transfer list Gareth Bale
Gareth Bale has been sensationally transfer listed by Spanish giants Real Madrid after failing to impress during his probationary period following a record breaking summer move from nursery club Tottenham Hotspur.
Marca can exclusively reveal that Madrid are regretful that the player has failed to live up to the much hyped expectations that Marca set during the long running saga that dominated the sports pages for months before a deal was finally agreed.
"This is not the same player that performed for Spurs", said an editor of Marca. "No last minute goals, no free-kicks, no pace. It's inexcusable that when played out of position and instructed to watch Ronaldo do everything that he still fails to shine through. It's like he's unfit and playing for a new team in a new country. It's a shame but it looks like Perez has spent 101 million euros on a player that isn't worth a fraction of that."
Real Madrid's suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat against Atletico in the derby which means they are now out of the title race. Bale on his home début was a passenger in the game. He failed to influence proceedings, including one defining moment when he won a free-kick just outside the box and decided against taking it leaving Ronaldo with the burden, who crumbled under the pressure and hit the set piece high and wide.
"He went unnoticed. He has no dimension to his play. He's a non-dimensional player. I think it's obvious that Perez has made a mistake. He can't work a dvd player. He probably watched the highlights of Bale (at Spurs) in fast-forward making him look explosive and with stunning acceleration".
Madrid are now seeking to cut short Mesut Ozil's stay at Arsenal by recalling him from his loan spell in order to resolve their crisis.
